  • why i practice
    i initially found yoga to supplement my dance training as a teenager dealing with several sports-related injuries. soon i discovered that yoga was a powerful outlet for me to express myself in an authentic and genuine way. i continue to practice today because i love the inner power that asanas create, the balance yoga brings to my life and mind, and the challenge of mastering new asanas.

    why i teach
    my goals as a teacher are to use my educational background in biomechanics and human anatomy to guide my students into and out of asanas in a creative and purposeful way that allows students to unlock pent-up expression and emotion. i want to help my students find movement that is beneficial for their bodies and helps to create positive energy that can be taken off the mat and into the world. i practice what i teach, and sharing my yoga practice with others helps me to express gratitude for those around me and my community. i hope to also create a space for my students to express their gratitude for their personal practice in body, mind, and spirit.

    inspirations
    my inspirations for my classes come from my fascination and passion for human movement and anatomy, which i studied in college. i strive to create energizing and uplifting sequences that are compatible with body mechanics and to each person’s unique anatomy. many of my creative inspirations are drawn from my involvement in, and enthusiasm for, music, dance, and literature.
